The Real Folk Blues is a series of blues albums released between 1965 and 1967 by Chess Records, later reissued MCA Records. Each album in the series highlighted the music of one major Chess artist, including John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Sonny Boy Williamson II. The series, overseen by Marshall Chess, was a reaction to the increasing audience for the blues following the British Invasion. Companion discs, titled More Real Folk Blues, were released for many of the artists.

Band Name Howlin' Wolf. Album Name More Real Folk Blues. 11. Who Will Be Next? 12. I Have a Little Girl.

This companion volume to the Real Folk Blues album was issued in 1967 (after the Wolf had appeared on network television with the Rolling Stones, alluded to in the original liner notes) and couldn't be more dissimilar in content to the first one if you had planned it that way. Whereas the previous volume highlighted middle-period Wolf, this one goes all the way back to his earliest Chess sessions, many of which sound like leftover Memphis sides.

More Real Folk Blues. More Real Folk Blues. Consisting mainly of Chicago takes from the early to mid 1950s, More Real Folk Blues is titled like a companion to Real Folk Blues but covers a different time period. That's not exactly a bad thing; there's some great stuff on this CD, from the rollicking, s "Just My Kind" to the sensual rocking of "I Have a Little Girl.

The Howlin' Wolf Album, like rival bluesman Muddy Waters's album Electric Mud, was designed to appeal to the hippie audience. The album had an attention-getting cover: large black letters on a white background proclaiming "This is Howlin' Wolf's new album. He doesn't like it. He didn't like his electric guitar at first either. Who Will Be Next" b/w "I Have a Little Girl".
