I Can't Stop Loving You (Though I Try)" is a song written by Billy Nicholls and first released by Leo Sayer from his 1978 self-titled album on the Chrysalis label. It reached number six on the UK Singles Chart and was classified silver. An American Southern rock group, the Outlaws, recorded "I Can't Stop Loving You" on their 1980 release Ghost Riders. In 2002, Phil Collins also covered the song, as "Can't Stop Loving You". His version reached number 28 on the UK Singles Chart

I wanna hold your hand Oh, if I can just be your man I wanna be your friend Not now and then, but until the end I just love the way you act, and that's a fact I wanna be your number one, so get to that. Maybe the next time Maybe the next time Maybe the next time Maybe the next time. it We gonna make it this time, baby (I'd rather be with you, yeah) You're the only one I really love now I'm coming at you with both hands tied behind my back, baby (I'd rather be with you, yeah) You got me, I'm coming at you, get ready I'm gonna stick my love in your eye, baby (I'd rather be with you, yeah) You can see me coming, baby, just coming all over you (Yeah I'd rather be with you). I’d Rather Be With You" Track Info.

Loving someone who doesn’t feel the same way is not restricted to just adolescents or teenagers, in fact much older people experience this as well. There are quite a number of reasons for which love may not be returned as hoped. 13. I Can’t Make You Love Me (Bon Iver). When you take a listen to songs like this, you tend to wonder what the writer was thinking or feeling when writing the song. This soul-crushing ballad resonates clearly the pain the singer is obviously going through when he says that though he really wished he could but he knows he can’t make his crush love him the way he does her. 14. You Belong With Me (Taylor Swift). You just can’t have a heartbreak song without pop diva Taylor Swift. She feels that she would rather hurt for as long as possible than stand the risk of losing both his friendship as well as imaginary love.

This song about falling in love with someone who’s long been gone cuts deep because of the desperation you can hear in the singer’s voice. He goes around town looking for someone who might be able to take his lost love’s place, and none of them seem to want anything to do with him – mostly because he wants to call them by her name. Here’s a throwback to the age of boybands. This 98 Degrees hit broke thousands of hearts with its heart-wrenching lyrics about a love that can’t be. In this song, you can feel just how much someone means to the singer, but it’s not a love that can last because he’s already with someone else. The most heartbreaking part: It’s the hardest thing I’ll ever have to do, to look you in the eye and tell you I don’t love you. It’s the hardest thing I’ll ever have to lie, to show no emotion when you start to cry. 5. Arcade Fire – Crown of Love.

Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. Renee Zellwegger sitting in her PJs, singing All by Myself while drinking vodka? The song might not specify a certain person as a love interest, but anyone suffering from unrequited love can most certainly recognize themselves in it. (And do watch Bridget Jones Diary if you’re feeling down in the dumps – you’ll be smiling by the end of it!). Don’t want to be, all by myself anymore.
