This is the soundtrack to Sydney Pollack’s 1982 comedy about a struggling actor (Dustin Hoffman) who disguises himself as a woman to land a part in a prestigious soap opera. In addition to Dave Grusin’s fusion-jazz score, the album also includes two songs written by Grusin and sung by Stephen Bishop. Tootsie (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Q&A. Primary Artists Dave Grusin & Stephen Bishop. Producers Dave Grusin. Writers Alan Bergman, Dave Grusin & Marilyn Bergman. More Dave Grusin albums.

Dave Grusin is a wonderful musician and another example of his work that I have is the soundtrack for On Golden Pond. These two are similar in some ways. Wonderful playing by Arturo Sandaval and very moody and true to Cuban sensibilities.

Featuring Simon & Garfunkel’s studious folk and the easy listening of Dave Grusin, a new vinyl reissue attests that what makes a fascinating artifact does not always make for an especially good listen. It’s not a collaboration between them, more like a war reenactment, with the folk duo representing youth culture and the composer giving voice to their older nemeses with a series of lushly orchestrated easy-listening tunes.

The Dixie Dancekings are a country music band trying to get their first big break. At the same time, . takes a liking to them and uses his natural charm and smooth-talking ways to help them start down the road to stardom. Director: John G. Avildsen.
