Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fl. (Isaiah 6:1–3) And one cried to another, "Holy, holy, holy, is YHWH of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory. verses 2–3) One seraph carries out an act of ritual purification for the prophet by touching his lips with a live coal from the altar (verses 6–7). If we burn with love for the Creator only, his consuming fire will quickly transform us into the flaming likeness of the Seraphim. Bonaventure, a Franciscan theologian who was a contemporary of Aquinas, uses the six wings of the seraph as an important analogical construct in his mystical work The Journey of the Mind to God.
Songs of Innocence and of Experience is an illustrated collection of poems by William Blake. It appeared in two phases. A few first copies were printed and illuminated by William Blake himself in 1789; five years later he bound these poems with a set of new poems in a volume titled Songs of Innocence and of Experience Shewing the Two Contrary States of the Human Soul.
The Flaming Seraphims Homage & Contrition 11 Track cd Digipak 2010 Ex + Conditio. In any case, Contrition show on this EP that they're actually quite good at writing solid riffs and that they are also good at putting together songs (but maybe they should consider alternatives to breakdowns as a way of ending a song). Oath of Inequity" is a well put together EP, and if Contrition build on it and play their cars right, they could have a promising future ahead of them.
Much of the music on Complete Songs of Innocence and Experience: William Blake Tuned by Allen Ginsberg pre-dates that on First Blues by almost three years. Ginsberg began working on setting the visionary English poet's famous collection to music on a pump organ in upstate New York in the aftermath of the Democratic National Convention in 1968 "Tear Gas Chicago. Of these tracks, the 12-minute homage mantra to guru-deity Padmasambhava alone is worth the set's purchase price. It's impossible to overestimate Ginsberg's influence on American culture; likewise, these recordings are nothing less than an integral, inseparable part of his oeuvre.
Songs of Innocence and Experience presents two radically different views of the world. In Songs of Innocence, Blake expresses a naive, childlike view of salvation. In Song of Experience, he lets that innocence go and adopts a more mature voice, taking note of the extreme poverty in London. Most of the poems in Songs of Innocence are addressed to children. They present a very simplistic view of the world, in which the world is beautiful and Jesus died for our sins.
