Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (22 January 1971 – 25 July 2017), also referred to since his death as Dr G Yunupingu, was an Indigenous Australian musician.

Blind from birth, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu is a powerhouse of musical creativity. His solo excursions highlight his amazing talent as a sician and his beautiful voice singing the songs of his Gumatj country. His solo performances are a rare treat and should not be missed. With the release of this his first solo album, Geoffrey highlights the tremendous talent and influence he has to offer Indigenous music in Australia, that can reverberate around the world.

While traditional Aboriginal music tends to be loud and percussive (particularly with the clapsticks), Gurrumul opts for an extremely soft delivery, laying ethereal vocals over the top of a soft acoustic guitar and a double bass only.
