Why not? is an album by Michel Camilo, released in 1985. The album was recorded in February 1985. It was released by Electric Bird. Why Not?" has been a favourite among Camilo's listeners, and has been recorded in many different versions, becoming a standard in Latin jazz. A piano and clarinet version was recorded as Why Not! with Cuban reedman Paquito D'Rivera and a big band version was recorded at the Blue Note. Just Kiddin' (Camilo). Hello and Goodbye (Camilo). Thinking of You (Camilo).

Live In London was captured on the stage, making it Camilo's first live solo record. In many respects, the distinction is unimportant. His dazzling technique, complete with Art Tatum-esque flourishes, classical allusions, and Latin jazz flair, rarely differs from album to album or place to place. And his directional compass typically points to the same realms. Those in attendance for this performance at The Queen Elizabeth Hall in June of 2015 were given a real treat, as Camilo clearly wasted no time getting down to business. From Within," where rhapsodizing quickly gives way to fervent thoughts, kicks off the show, serving as a springboard into the pianist's world. Then Camilo provides a quick detour to another time and place on "The Frim Fram Sauce" before returning to his own oeuvre with a glowing and dazzling "A Place In Time. Two more originals follow, offering contrast in tempo and tone.

Live At the Blue Note. Camilo, who worked with Paquito d'Rivera's band for three years (cutting an album with "Why Not?" as the title cut), recorded for Electric Bird (sessions reissued by Evidence) and Columbia, and worked as a leader beginning with his self-titled album in 1988; the album remained at the top of the jazz charts for ten weeks straight. Camilo had the attention of both critics and Latin jazz fans alike. Another standout in his catalog was 1993's Rendezvous, with bassist Anthony Jackson and drummer Dave Weckl. Camilo also added film composer to his résumé with two scores: Amo.

Michel Camilo Live At The Blue Note 2 CD Album Latin Post Bop Jazz. The CDs are in Very Good Condition with only a few light surface marks but these do not affect the audio quality. The case is in Very Good Condition with light wear. This is one hell of a live record by a talent who deserves to record regularly for Blue Note as well as play the club. It is evident that Mika Pohjola is destined for great things, simply by listening to these original compositions he created for this C.
